  • A New Affiliate Opens in Wisconsin

We are proud to welcome Family Promise of Western Waukesha County, Wisconsin. This is our eighth Affiliate in the Badger State. Waukesha County is due west of Milwaukee and the Affiliate serves the western, more small-town area also known as Lake Country.

It began when a UCC pastor wondered what to do about the frequent requests for help he was getting from families in the community. A previous service effort had failed and they wanted to turn to Family Promise for a successful template.

  • Celebrating Transformation in Chicago

Family Promise representatives from across the country—Directors, staff, board members and volunteers—gathered in Chicago October 24-26 for our 13th National Conference, Transforming Lives. More than 325 people convened at the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg for a full weekend of workshops, speeches, exhibitions and entertainment as we took a few days to connect with friends—old and new—and share experiences in the fight against family homelessness.

  • Partnership with Dignity U Wear Provides Clothes for Affiliates

We are excited to announce a new partnership with another national nonprofit, Dignity U Wear.

Dignity U Wear was the vision of an amazing man and Holocaust survivor, Henri Landwirth. Understanding that clothing is an essential need, and that poverty should not consign children and adults to used, ill-fitting or irregular clothes, the organization was founded with a mission of connecting major apparel manufacturers with those in need. Dignity U Wear has provided clothing necessities—new, high-quality wear—to nearly one million people. Clothes run the gamut from the basics of socks and underwear to school uniforms to men’s and women’s business clothes. Currently, more than 300 nonprofits work with Dignity U Wear.
