  • Welcome Pickens County, South Carolina

    Pickens County Director Armilla Moore.
Welcome, Family Promise of Pickens County South Carolina, the seventh Affiliate to open in the Palmetto State. The best known city in the county is Clemson, home to the eponymous university.

Efforts began when congregations, familiar with the exceptional Affiliate in the next county in Greenville, started exploring the possibility of a program in Pickens County. Efforts were led by Steve Lambright, a program manager for the county’s United Way. Steve was able to involve the UW, using its resources to help establish not just the Affiliate, but ultimately a multi-service “dream center.” FPPC is an example of collective efforts and community collaboration beyond congregations truly bringing change.

  • Partnership with Dignity U Wear Provides Clothes for Affiliates

We are excited to announce a new partnership with another national nonprofit, Dignity U Wear.

Dignity U Wear was the vision of an amazing man and Holocaust survivor, Henri Landwirth. Understanding that clothing is an essential need, and that poverty should not consign children and adults to used, ill-fitting or irregular clothes, the organization was founded with a mission of connecting major apparel manufacturers with those in need. Dignity U Wear has provided clothing necessities—new, high-quality wear—to nearly one million people. Clothes run the gamut from the basics of socks and underwear to school uniforms to men’s and women’s business clothes. Currently, more than 300 nonprofits work with Dignity U Wear.

  • Family Promise and PetSmart Celebrate Two Years of PetSmart Promise

PetSmart Promise, a national program that helps temporarily homeless families keep all members of their family together – including their four-legged family members - is celebrating the two-year anniversary of the program’s launch in Phoenix. PetSmart Promise builds pet kennel facilities at Family Promise Day Centers for temporarily homeless families across the United States. The concept initiated with Family Promise of Greater Phoenix in 2012, and since has expanded across the country with seven additional facilities, including five opening this year.

  • Cabot Creamery Continues Their Support of Family Promise

For the 2nd year in a row, Family Promise and Cabot Creamery Cooperative, “Makers of the World’s Best Cheddar,” are partnering nationally to help Affiliates raise money. The farmers who own Cabot Creamery applaud the work each Family Promise Affiliate does and are showing their appreciation by offering cheese and gift boxes as donations for Affiliate events.
